In 2019, these hills were recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, joining the world’s most extraordinary cultural landscapes. A recognition awarded for the exceptional balance between man and nature, shaped over centuries through the art of viticulture.
Viticulture and the Value of the Territory
Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG wines are born from steep hillside vineyards, where mechanisation is often limited and the work demands experience, precision and dedication.
The dramatic slopes still require much of the harvest to be carried out by hand. A courageous form of viticulture, where every bunch is carefully tended to preserve its quality.
The effort demanded by these hills is rewarded with optimal sun exposure, balanced ripening and grape quality capable of producing wines that are more complex, distinctive and refined.
ContradaGranda: Masottina’s Interpretation of Prosecco Superiore DOCG
Every Masottina collection is created to enhance the authentic identity of the terroir from which it comes. The name ContradaGranda pays tribute to the ancient Contrada Granda, the historic heart of Conegliano and a symbol of gathering, culture and tradition — a dedication to the origins of the territory and its winemaking heritage.
ContradaGranda wines are born from the harmonious union of the different souls of Conegliano Valdobbiadene:
- Ogliano, which brings complexity and intense fruity aromas
- Solighetto, which contributes elegant floral notes
- Rolle, which lends freshness and vibrant acidity
A blend designed to create balance, depth and elegance — an authentic expression of the hills of Prosecco Superiore DOCG.
The collection is expressed through two interpretations of the denomination: Brut and Extra Dry. Two wines that reveal, through different nuances, the identity of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene hills.
Harmonious and elegant, ContradaGranda Brut is crafted mainly from grapes grown in Ogliano, enriched by the floral notes of Solighetto and the freshness of Rolle.
Its aromatic profile reveals fruity notes, mineral nuances and delicate spices, while the long 90-day secondary fermentation enhances its finesse and persistence.
Elegant and fragrant, ContradaGranda Extra Dry reflects the softer, more enveloping personality of the territory. On the nose, aromas of green apple, pear, plum and delicate floral hints emerge.
